In Eastern philosophy traditions, 108 is a number that is commonly associated with spirituality. The ultimate goal of this challenge is to have a stronger body so that you can live a more purposeful life, which is a spiritual endeavor. More practically speaking, 108 days is nearly 4 months, which is about how long it takes to properly forge a new habit.
What happens after the 108 days? The goal of the challenge is to build the habit of a meditation-centric lifestyle. So over time, you will become a self-sufficient, daily meditator once the initial 108 days concludes.
