Cold in New York

Today was fairly cold in New York. I started the day in Dumbo, where I met with Andrea and discussed the next Shine event. We talked about what The Shine was missing and how we could make it better. Andrea just had a baby three months ago, and I noticed that she was glowing, and told her as much. We had a nice time catching up, and then we parted and I headed to Soho for my next meeting.

Ultimately I ended up in the gym and had an inspired workout. Today was leg day. I’ve apparently grown a bit stronger, because I was able to squat heavier than usual. I then headed to do a bit more work in the meatpacking district.

The temperature was dropping, and with the night coming faster, the cafes and work spaces are more crowded in the evenings. I had a post-workout dinner of brick chicken and salad before returning home to do some final work and then head to bed.

The highlight of my day has been devouring Michelle Obama’s biography Becoming. I’ve been listening to the audiobook all day, on trains, while braving the cold, while on a Citibike, while working. I can’t stop listening. I’ll probably finish it tomorrow. She’s up to the part where Barack won the presidential election, and they moved into the White House. It’s super fascinating.
